This is a super example of a Victorian Tunbridge Ware Jewellery Box.
Dating back to the end of the Victorian period 1880 - 1900, carrying the traditional attractive Tunbridge ware banding.
The brass lock is fully operational and comes with a steel key with 1887 dated penny fob, locks with a very satisfying firm click.
Refurbished to a high standard with re-lined professionally upholstered interior in plush black velvet.
The inner tray has several compartments including a triple ring holder section with steel retractable side handles. This lifts out to further storage underneath.
Overall, this is a very practical sized Jewellery Box. The exterior marquetry is intact with some marks to the main body, the mother of pearl inlays are in good condition, the wear present is commensurate with age, use and historical repairs.
The interior is fully refurbished.
