A stunning and highly decorative Italian Brass and Pewter Inkwell styled during The Italian Renaissance Revival (1890-1930) at the very end of the Victorian period.
This Pewter Inkwell is excellently cast with great detail, highly decorative male and female faces, foliage swags and a mythical creatures head to the centre of each side.
The lid of the Inkwell is brass and has the raised face of a maiden.
Standing on three paw footed legs which attach to the decorative brass stand.
The brass stand has a raised embossed pattern to the edges and the centre, having the same mythical creatures faces and foliage decoration and an attractive rope edge.
This is larger than average Inkwell of lovely quality and design.
In very good solid condition. The hinged lid is firm, the maidens face to the lid has a slight indent to one cheek. The wear present is light for an item of this era and displays beautifully.
Replacement black ceramic liner.
