Farm Yard - Victorian Lithograph Print by John Fredrick Herring, 1859
A wonderful large lithograph in its original gilt gesso frame, from a very eminent mid 19th Century artist.
Herring was most prolific and a much sought-after artist of this period getting many commissions for horse and animal portraits from the gentry of the day.
On widening his subject matter, he painted beautifully detailed narrative agricultural scenes.
Many of which were beautifully reproduced in exquisite engravings by the London based French Fine Art Dealers - Goupil & Co
