Large Equestrian Inkwell and 2 Lovely Matching Candlesticks - A Unique Collectable from the Late Victorian Early Edwardian Era

A beautifully designed Copper and Brass Desk Set displaying the loveliest detail to all parts, even the wax catchers on the Candlesticks are edged with copper stylised as Leather Tack.  The bases on all items feature a delightful display of intricate hand etched Saddle, Checked Horse Blanket, Stirrups, Jocky Cap and Crop etc... The horses head castings to the Candlesticks and the Crop Handles are all very fine in detail. The copper has a light gilding, making this a very decorative, and what must have been a very desirable desk set for the equestrian enthusiast from this era.

The condition of all pieces is very good. The wear present is light, there is one stirrup missing from one of the candlesticks, and the small knocks present are only what should be expected from 100+ years of use and display. There is a newly replace black ceramic ink reservoir, and the bases have been re-covered.

The stirrup to the side of the saddle on the inkwell is removable having a little hook that fits into the saddle, I'm assuming it has always been like that, it’s remarkable that it is still there after all these years.

This is a wonderful and unique collectable that truly displays with great presence, a real statement piece.
