Exquisite 1897 Silver Mistletoe Teaspoons.

A wonderful pair of Victorian Novelty Silver Tea Spoons. Beautifully designed for high end retailers of the era by John Millward Banks.

Good hallmarks for John Millward Banks. First Est. Birmingham 1863, and later opened a Showroom in London 12-14 Beake Street in the West End C1893-1905.

Superbly detailed with unusual naturalistic stems and mistletoe finials.
The mistletoe finials being gold plated. The bowls are immaculate, and the finials are complete and in lovely condition.

These spoons are in their original box and have been retailed from a high quality retailer Reid and Sons, Newcastle upon Tyne. Goldsmiths and Jewellers to the Queen and Prince of Wales.

Advertising prints from that era showed these spoons could have been purchased individually or in multiples as desired.

The condition and quality of these lovely Mistletoe Teaspoons is very good given their 120+ year age. The original box is also in exceptionally good condition internally, with expected, although minor, external age related ware associated with an items age from this period.
