A Fabulouse Comprehensive Victorian Washstand Set in a lovely unusual style, by a very reputable maker. George Jones & Sons. Circa Late 1800's Early 1900's
The set consists of, Wash Bowl, Water Jug, Sponge Dish with removable Drip Tray and a Soap Dish also with a removable Drip Tray and Lid.
The fine cream china is decorated with a lovely subtle floral pattern and is impressed with a slightly raised leafy pattern enhancing the inside edge of the Large Wash Bowl, Jug Top, and Soap Dish Lid which looks almost cloud like against the fine blue glaze. The swirling design throughout leaves the foot of the jug, sponge and soap dish standing on very delicate scalloped bases.
The Wash Bowl is sligtly oval as the impressed leafy design forms two subtle lifting points within the design of the flared and scalloped top.
C1873-1924 Late Victorian early Edwardian, the George Jones & Son Crescent mark can be seen impressed, although faint, within the glaze on the base of the large Wash Bowl.
