A Stunning Antique Mahogany Jewellery Box With Original Key
A fabulous quality and very attractive Victorian Jewellery Box. Wonderful brass inlay with inset decorative recessed carrying handle with matching escutcheon to the front.
Quality working lock and original key.
The lid has the original fall front gilt leather document holder, which is in fabulous condition. Behind this is housed a wooden backed removable mirror which is a replacement of a later date but fits the recess well.
There is one removable tray with brass recessed handles, lifting out to a deep storage area underneath. The tray and base refurbished in a pale rose velvet.
The overall condition is very good, the lock works well and closes well with a very safisfying clunk. Carrying wear associated with age and use all be it light for its 100+ year age.
