C1820 George III Regency Rosewood and Marquetry Work Box
An exquisite Work Box with a caddy top having inlaid foliate decoration and gadrooned edges.
The sewing box has a fully fitted raspberry silk interior containing the original sewing accoutrements and the most wonderful mother of pearl carved bobbins and a folio compartment folding into the lid.
The two mother of pearl panelled doors open to a faux drawer over three further drawers.
One having a designated Jewellery compartment with lift out interior to further storage.
The second being a full size storage drawer.
The third is a removable correspondence compartment containing two ink wells with a leather work surface, this opens out to a regal velvet writing slope. The velvet slope lifts to provide a further storage compartment.
